L.E.A.R.N. Basketball Program for athletes 8 and up in Rutherford County began on Jan 9, 2010

 

2010 L.E.A.R.N. BASKETBALL TEAM

 

CONGRATULATIONS L.E.A.R.N. STARS SPECIAL OLYMPICS 2009

 

 

L.E.A.R.N. STARS BASKETBALL PROGRAM:  On Saturday, March 6th, three STARS teams participated in this year’s Special Olympics Middle Tennessee Regional Basketball Tournament held at Ensworth High School and two STARS teams participated in the State Tournament held at Lipscomb University in Nashville on Friday, March 12th and Saturday, March 13th.  The competitions brought the best out of our teams as they more than held their own against some pretty tough competition.  The athletes that participated in these tournaments were Andrew Carr, Lonny Carr, Rudy Moreno, Cheree Finchum, Cory Nelms, Alex Maye, Eric Davis, Zack Craig, Daniel Harrison, Ben Porschakin, Ryan Marshall, Amanda Amsler, Joseph Harrison, Elise Harren, Clint Blalock, Vinnie Agosta, Quintin Ashford, Casey Martin, Christopher Lacy, Arthur Howard, Terrell Brown, and Bradley Hickerson.

 

All the athletes who participated in our 2010 Basketball program will be honored at our March Madness celebration this Saturday, March 20th.  We will also pay tribute to the coaches and volunteers.  The athletes who participated in our program were:

Vinnie Agosta, Amanda Amsler, Quintin Ashford, Clint Blalock, Lance Bogard, Terrell Brown, Andrew Carr, Lonny Carr, Zack Craig, Eric Davis, Austin Duck, Edward Ehrenberg, Dusty Finch, Cheree Finchum, Tyler Goyman, Jamyson Hale, Elise Harren, Daniel Harrison, Joseph Harrison, Bradley Hickerson, Arthur Howard, Tanner King, Christopher Lacy, Steven Magner, Ryan Marshall, Casey Martin, Richard Mason, Alex Maye, Matthew McDonald, Rudy Moreno, Cory Nelms, Ben Porschakin, Marvin Robinson, Michael Scales, and Shyquwan Wimberly.   Coaches:  Kurt Craig, Dave Davis, Ben Duck, Steve Marshall, Carla Maye, Dave Salmonson, and Diane Salmonson.  Assistant Coaches:  Dylan Craig, Josh Lathrop, Adam Latondress, Chelsey Latondress, and Taylor Unklesbay.

Once again we have had a tremendously successful basketball season.  A huge thanks goes to all of our volunteers and coaches who made it possible for our kids.  You are the reason we continue to succeed.

  • 100% of all donations LEARN receives go directly towards the programs and services provided giving it a 100% Program Efficiency Rating for a nonprofit organization. There are no management or salary fees associated with the organization. L.E.A.R.N. receives no funds from the government, which makes our fundraising efforts crucial to the organization’s success.

     

    The success of the L.E.A.R.N. group largely depends on the contributions made by our supporters and volunteers.
